64* Conway Stewart Scholars' Fountain Pen, steel trim, straight clip embossed with 'Conway Stewart UK' or 'Conway', medium band, self-colored section, pressac type filler. Interchangeable, screw-in steel nib, smoothline, USA or CS steel scribe nib. Dimensions - length: 13.5cm; barrel+section: 10.3cm; cap: 6cm. IMOHO these were the worst pens CS ever made. Even my two mint examples the bands are loose and the cap sticks on the barrel.

Boxed with 97 BP pen =Cartridge writing set.

74* Conway Stewart: (1957-63? SH), black stud diamond clip, Grecian band, nib CS 5, (Speedy-phil). Dimensions - length: 13.5cm; barrel+section: 10.5cm; cap: 6.5cm. (Original price 40/-) This pen was called SPEEDY-PHIL because of its very unusual filling mechanism. This pen is known as the Speedy Phil because of its unusual filling mechanism. Actually this trade mark can be seen on early boxes of the "International pen, and is represented by a young boy in red sitting on a "flying" lever pen with the inscription "I'm Speedy Phil". I still don't quite understand how it works, even though I've taken the mechanism to pieces. But the truth is that it generally didn't and its very unusual to find one today in working condition.
