J and D's Vintage Pens - boxes

he Conway Stewart presentation boxes on this page date from the 1920's and 30's. They were beautifully made in a wide range of designs and colors, though some have suffered the wear and tear of time. At least some are of French manufacture. Boxes were numbered with a catalogue number and prices were as cheap as 5 shillings for a No. 33 set that contained a Scribe pen (No.336) and a "Nippy" pencil. Unfortunately the actual numbers were rarely printed on the boxes so it needs guess-work to allocate the catalogue numbers to their respective boxes. Each box contains a pen and pencil, while earlier ones also sometimes contained a Sheffield made pen-knife. Later boxes from the 40s and 50s are slightly less pretentious. You can open any of these boxes!
